Gliceida Galarza Fortuna is a Dominican-born medical professional. Her journey in the medical field began after completing her undergraduate studies at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, where she majored in psychology and minored in health sciences.

After finishing her undergraduate degree, Gliceida Galarza Fortuna decided to pursue a career in medicine and completed her medical degree at UNIBE School of Medicine in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Following this, she went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida,  where she served as an Internal Medicine chief resident.

After completing her Internal Medicine residency, Gliceida Galarza Fortuna decided to further specialize in the field of hematology and medical oncology. She is currently a first-year fellow at the University of Utah.
