Letícia Taniwaki is a medical oncologist from Brazil who came to UCSF Center for BRCA Research to work on research projects with regards to hereditary cancer syndromes: testing, access, screening, prevention, and treatment.
Letícia has a special interest in Cancer Genetics and has been dedicating time to Cancer Genetics Risk Assessment since she finished her Medical Oncology fellowship. She completed the Graduate Degree Program in Cancer Genetics at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (Brazil) in August 2019, and the Intensive Course in Genetic Cancer Risk Assessment at City of Hope (USA) in March 2021.
Letícia received all her previous medical training in Brazil. She earned her medical degree from Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto / Universidade de São Paulo, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto (Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto / Universidade de São Paulo), and completed her fellowship in Medical Oncology at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein.
