Graduated from the State University of Londrina in Brazil, post graduate training at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Utah and at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Currently,  Senior Scientific Director at the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) overseeing the activities in adoptive cell therapy in the CIBMTR, professor of Medicine at MCW,  faculty in the Blood and Marrow Transplant/ Cellular Therapy program, and the Plasma Cell Disorders group at MCW and Froedtert Hospital.
