Simona Armanca, PharmD, BCOP
Simona Armanca, PharmD, BCOP earned a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from Howard University School of Pharmacy followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from University of Florida College of Pharmacy and obtained her oncology pharmacist board certification in 2007. She joined the pharmacy team at Georgetown University Hospital and was instrumental in the growth and development of oncology, research and bone marrow transplant pharmacy services. During her service that span over two decades she was a contributing member of numerous committees, defined the role of a pharmacy clinical specialist as a valuable member of the team, and mentored many pharmacy students, residents and fellows.
In her current role at INOVA Schar Cancer Institute as a Clinical Hematology/Oncology Specialist provides education to multidisciplinary teams , develops guidelines and policies, and oversees the implementation of various pharmacy protocols. She is passionate about patient-centered care, quality improvement, and teaching.
