Jason Mendoza, MD, MPH
Dr. Mendoza is a physician-scientist, with appointments as Professor of Public Health Sciences and Associate Program Head of the Cancer Prevention Program at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. He is also the founding Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement for the Fred Hutch/University of Washington (UW)/Seattle Children’s Cancer Consortium, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. He leads the Consortium's Office of COE, which uses community-engaged approaches to address cancer inequities in partnership with community-based organizations. His NIH grant portfolio spans the Fred Hutch, Seattle Children's, and University of Washington, where he leads research on interventions for equity in nutrition and physical activity outcomes. Dr. Mendoza obtained his MD degree at Rush Medical College, completed his pediatric residency training at the UW/Seattle Children’s Hospital, and a public health research fellowship through the UW Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program.
