Dr. Tom Purcell is the vice president and chief medical officer of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch). He is a medical oncologist who cares for patients with gastrointestinal cancers, such as liver cancer, and runs clinical trials of new drugs for patients with lung cancer, mesothelioma, and other cancers. He also studies the role of exercise in cancer survivorship and oversees Fred Hutch's medical staff, quality program and its integration with UW Medicine.   .
