A native of Buffalo NY, Dr. Shatzel received his B.S. in Biology from Canisius College, and an MD from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. He went on to perform his residency in Internal Medicine at Dartmouth College, Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the Oregon Health & Science University, and received a Masters Degree in Clinical Research from the Oregon Health & Science University, where he is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering. His NIH funded research lab focuses on preclinical, translational and clinical studies in thrombosis & hemostasis.
