Ahmed Elkhanany, MD
Dr. Ahmed Elkhanany is an assistant professor of medicine at the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology. Dr. Elkhanany received his medical degree from the Alexandria University School of Medicine in Egypt. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri—Kansas City and his fellowship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Elkhanany specializes in the care of patients with breast cancer. He is also a member of the Breast Cancer Prevention and High-Risk Clinic at Baylor College of Medicine and has a special interest in breast cancer prevention and metastatic breast cancer. Dr. Elkhanany research interests lie in translational breast cancer genomics and the impact of race and ethnicity on gene drivers of breast cancer. He is involved with projects that translate lab-based findings into bedside novel treatment combinations in the hope of improving patient lives and finding novel, less toxic cures.
Dr. Elkhanany sees breast cancer patients and high-risk breast health consults at both the O’Quinn Medical Tower at the McNair Campus and the Harris Health Smith Clinic.
