David Cosgrove
Dr. David Cosgrove serves as the Medical Director of Compass Oncology in Portland, OR and specializes in general adult oncology with advanced subspecialty expertise in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. With a team-oriented approach to patient care, he is a strong advocate for bringing leading therapies to his patients through clinical trials, and he strives toward open communication by encouraging questions and ongoing communication.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and serves as Director of the Sarah Cannon Research Institute’s national GI Research Committee, acting as principal investigator for many studies. As the Director of Research for Phase 1 trials at Compass Oncology, Dr. Cosgrove often collaborates on Real World Evidence (RWE) studies as a community oncologist with Ontada. He serves on the board of the Oregon Society of Medical Oncology (OSMO), a state ASCO affiliate.
Prior to joining Compass, Dr. Cosgrove served as both assistant professor of medical oncology at Johns Hopkins University and as clinical director of practice for the department of medical oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is a graduate of University College Dublin, School of Medicine, and completed his residency at James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, followed by an Osler Medical Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and a fellowship in medical oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University.
