Matthew Hernandez is a surgical oncologist focusing on hepatopancreatobiliary diseases at the University of New Mexico. He main research focus is currently to generate, analyze, and broadcast the outcomes of patients undergoing complex surgery for several important diseases in New Mexico including cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, pancreatic cancer, and colorectal liver metastasis. He utilizes advanced laparoscopy and robotics commonly for well suited patients and disease types. He is very interested in treatment sequencing and providing compassionate care to improve patient quality and quantity of life.
