Mohammad Vasef, Academic pathologist, board certified by American Board of Pathology in AP/CP, Hematopathology, and Molecular Genetic Pathology
I received his MD from the University of Tehran, and completed an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, an affiliate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. After a fellowship in hematopathology at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA, I joined the University of Iowa as a faculty, where I practiced hematopathology, and served as co-director of the molecular pathology laboratory. At University of New Mexico, I am currently a Professor of Pathology and Director of the Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship Program. I have published widely on the application of molecular techniques in diagnostic hematopathology. I am also the lead author of the textbook entitled "Diagnostic Pathology: Molecular Oncology" in the Diagnostic Pathology Series of Amirsys/Elsevier.
