Cheryl Sampson is the Director of the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center Clinical Research Office (UNMCCC CRO) and Executive Director of the New Mexico Cancer Research Alliance (NMCRA).  In her role as the UNMCCC CRO Director, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the UNMCCC CRO which includes the functions of clinical operations and data management, quality assurance, regulatory, finance, and informatics.  She also serves as the NCORP grant administrator for the New Mexico M/U NCORP.  In her role as the NMCRA Executive Director, she oversees the day-to-day operations of this 501(c)(3) whose purpose is to provide to New Mexico cancer patients, their families, and all New Mexicans access to the latest clinical trials and other cancer related clinical research in prevention, screening, detection, diagnosis, treatment, supportive care, surveillance and cancer care delivery in a culturally competent manner through collaboration among public and private healthcare providers.
