Helen Storey, MS PhD
For the last 11 years, I have led product-driven research focused on user experience and health system integration to advance the development and adoption of intentionally designed health technologies for low-resource settings through my role as a Public Health scientist in the Diagnostics program at PATH. Working across the product development process, my research includes formative research to understand user and product specifications, evaluative research to inform rapid and iterative prototyping, and operational research to guide product integration in low- and middle-income countries. My methods-focused experience has been applied to many diseases, including soil-transmitted helminths (STHs), onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, typhoid, diabetes, and HIV, as well as many technologies including diagnostics, medical devices, digital tools, and now AI-assisted health tools. I have created key partnerships in the emerging space of health AI to bring technology partners like Google Research and others to collaborate with PATH on pressing health challenges. I enjoy working on multidisciplinary, global teams with academic researchers, for-profit companies, nonprofit organizations, as well as national and regional health programs.
