Darien Reed-Perino, MD, PhD

Dr. Reed-Perino completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and an MD at the University of California, San Francisco. Her graduate work utilized genetic and pharmacogenetic approaches to dissect PI-3-kinase isoform-specific signaling in breast cancers. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ and her fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Washington/Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle, WA.
She is currently an Acting Instructor in the breast oncology group at the University of Washington/Fred Hutch Cancer Center and a Research Associate in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Her post-doctoral research involves studying how quiescent cancer cells may contribute to treatment resistance and disease recurrence in triple-negative breast cancer metastases and, ultimately, how they may be targeted.
