Haoran Li
Haoran Li, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Kansas Cancer Center. He received his MD from Sun Yat-Sen University's Zhong Shan School of Medicine, followed by a residency in Medical Oncology at Sun Yat-sen Cancer Center. Dr. Li furthered his education with a PhD in Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. His postdoctoral training included roles as a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Ottawa's The Ottawa Hospital and as a Visiting Physician at the University of Calgary's Tom Baker Cancer Center in Canada. Subsequently, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Weill Cornell Medical College, Lincoln Medical Center in New York, and a Fellowship at Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah.
Dr. Li has made substantial contributions to oncology literature, publishing extensively in esteemed journals such as JAMA, JAMA Netw Open, Eur Urol Oncol, Eur Urol Focus and Oncologist, focusing primarily on genitourinary cancers and immunotherapy-related toxicities. His research abilities are further underscored by his involvement in presentations for major conferences like ASCO and NCCN. Dr. Li has also contributed chapters to notable books, discussing topics ranging from neurotoxicity associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors to stress response pathways in cancer.
Throughout his career, Dr. Li has been recognized with numerous honors and awards, including Merit Award at ASCO and the Outstanding Research Award from Genitourinary Medical Oncologists of Canada. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese.
