Soumya has deeply enjoyed being an oncology nurse practitioner for over 18 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut, followed by her RN and Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University, where her didactic focus was adult oncology. During her NP career, she has had the opportunity to work at several leading institutions in the Midwest and West Coast. She has also had the privilege of specializing in multiple cancer fields, including gynecologic oncology, GI oncology, hematology oncology, and medical oncology. Recently, she helped design and implement an APC-led immediate care clinic to manage same-day acute care needs for patients receiving cancer therapies. Soumya is committed to educating and partnering with nurse colleagues. She has presented on various topics at her institutions for many years. She has also been a guest speaker at PSONS. Soumya is currently practicing at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, as a GI Oncology Nurse Practitioner.
