Donelle Rizzuto, RN, BSN, OCN.  I have been working at SCCA for over 15 years as a clinical nurse coordinator.  I have worked with benign heme and sickle cell patients 2 years but for the last 13 years I have specifically worked with AML and high risk MDS patients.  I worked with Dr. Eli Estey and other SCCA providers developing the early discharge protocol for our AML patients.  This allows our patients to be managed as outpatients after high dose chemotherapy versus staying inpatient until count recovery.  We continue to use this as our standard of care today.  After many years of limited treatment options beside high dose chemotherapy there have been multiple new oral chemotherapies that can be used to treat AML.  

I worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and spoke at ONS as well as done poster presentations. I have also presented at PSONS.  I have been noted as an author on three published research papers on outpatient management of AML patients.
