Chelsea Gawryletz, DO
Dr. Chelsea D. Gawryletz, DO, is a double board-certified Internist and Medical Oncologist with expertise in Breast Cancer. She has dedicated her career to better understand the biology of breast cancer, translating discoveries from the benchtop to the bedside, and delivering world-class, cutting-edge therapies for those with breast cancer. She is currently the Medical Director for the Breast Cancer Research Program at University of Colorado Health in Northern Colorado, where she practices medicine and cares for breast cancer patients at UCHealth Harmony Campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is Principal Investigator for dozens of actively accruing and previously accrued ongoing national and international clinical trials in breast cancer, with a diversified research portfolio including cooperative group, investigator initiated, and industry sponsored trials, serving patients in her community. Prior to her current role, she served on the Provider Leadership Council as an elected member representing medical specialties, the Cancer Liaison Physician for quality improvement, the Alternate Chair for Cancer Committee, and a member of the Performance Excellence Committee. She was a Hematology / Oncology Fellow at Mayo Clinic Arizona and a Helios Scholar at Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) in the Breast Cancer Research Unit. She was honored as an Immuno-Oncology Young Investigator at MD Anderson in Houston, TX and Early Career Investigator for Individualizing Medicine at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. She has presented work locally, nationally, and internationally and has numerous abstracts, posters, presentations and peer-reviewed publications. She teaches medical students from University of Colorado School of Medicine at Colorado State University branch as well as students from CU Anschutz Campus.
Dr. Gawryletz was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of Alaska Fairbanks and was summa cum laude in her graduate work in Neuroscience prior to medical school at Midwestern University. Dr. Gawryletz’s husband Brandon was born and raised in Trail, British Columbia Canada and currently works full-time for the NHL as an On-Ice Official (Linesman). They met in college and have been together for nearly two decades and married for 13 years. They have two daughters in elementary school, Audrey and Gracie, who enjoy alpine skiing, equestrian, piano, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, camping, traveling, reading, writing, dance and gymnastics. They currently have a 3 year old English Cream Golden Retriever named Nanook. As a family, they enjoy travel, being together and everything outdoors!
