Robert McWilliams, MD, MSc
Dr. McWilliams is a staff consultant and Professor of Oncology at the Mayo Clinic, and Vice Chair of the Department of Oncology. He is Co-Deputy Director of the Clinical Practice for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, he completed medical school at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, graduating summa cum laude. He completed his medical residency at Johns Hopkins, and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He also has completed a postdoctoral cancer genetic epidemiology fellowship at Mayo, and obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Research from Mayo Clinic. He has actively studied and published extensively in the field of genetics of pancreatic cancer since 2003, and has served as a member of the Pancreas Task Force for the National Cancer Institute, and the GI Steering Committee. He has also written and completed multiple clinical trials in gastrointestinal cancers and melanoma.
