Dr. Kalyan Banda is a medical oncologist and translational researcher specializing in gynecologic cancers. He conducts clinical trials of novel drugs including phase I and experimental therapeutic agents. In 2020, he was a recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Career Development Award for his work exploring whole-genome mutational signatures in ovarian cancer. He has a special interest in precision medicine and applied technologies to predict patient responses or resistance to therapies. Dr. Banda runs a Gyn Onc precision medicine tumor board at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center which is thus far the only tumor board to incorporate patient-derived organoids testing into treatment plans.
