Sayeh Lavasani, MD, MSc, FRCPC - Breast Oncologist, Associate Professor at UCI
Dr. Lavasani is a board-certified medical oncologist and associate professor with the division of hematology oncology at UC Irvine who specializes in the management of breast cancer. A national leader in breast medical oncology for more than a decade, her main focus is HER2 positive breast cancer. She earned her medical degree at Iran University of Medical Sciences. She completed her internal medicine residency at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada followed by her Medical Oncology training at McMaster University and breast cancer fellowship at University of Toronto along with a master's degree in Epidemiology and Healthcare Research at University of Toronto.
She came to UCI from City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte, California where she worked as a breast oncologist, director of inpatient medical oncology services and Quality Chair at the Department of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics Research and was a core teaching faculty for hematology oncology fellowship program. She is a member of SWOG and Alliance and she was the PI of multiple national and international studies and has multiple peer-reviewed publications. She is also passionate about breast cancer prevention and was vice chair of Breast Cancer Prevention Committee at NCCN Guidelines.
