Pratibha Binder, MD, MSCI
Pratibha S. Binder, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating female reproductive system cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, endometrial, vulvar and vaginal cancer. Her expertise also includes surgical and medical management of these cancers.
Dr. Binder completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at UC Irvine School of Medicine and also holds a master's degree in science and clinical investigation from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, Dr. Binder takes pride in educating and instructing out future physicians and other health care workers. She has the pleasure to work with medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine and has won several teaching awards during her 5 years at this institution. Her research focuses on improving surgical outcomes and improving patient-centered cancer care. Dr. Binder has co-authored many peer-reviewed articles, and her work has been published in journals such as Gynecologic Oncology and American Journal of Obstetric Gynecology, among others.
Her main focus remains providing comprehensive, compassionate and patient-centered cancer care. She is passionate about developing relationships with patients and helping them through their journey of cancer diagnosis, treatment, surveillance and palliative care.
Outside of work, Dr. Binder enjoys traveling, sailing, rock climbing and spending time with her family and friends
