Vishal Vashistha, M.D. is the Chief of Quality and Performance Improvement Service and Staff Physician at the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. His research has primarily focused on evaluating the barriers to the clinical expansion of tumor DNA sequencing and the administration of associated targeted treatments throughout oncology practices. Dr. Vashistha attended Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Duke University Medical Center, respectively.
