Lucy Langer, MD, MSHS
Lucy R. Langer, MD, MSHS, is the National Medical Director of Oncology and Genomics at UnitedHealthcare.
Dr. Langer earned her medical degree at Stanford and completed fellowship in hematology and oncology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, where she also earned a master’s degree in Health Services Research. She has been a practicing oncologist with Compass Oncology in Portland, OR since 2007 and currently sees patients for Genetic and High Risk Evaluation and Management.
Dr. Langer previously held several leadership positions with The USOncology Network, including creating and serving as co-Medical Director of the National Genetic Risk Evaluation and Testing (GREAT) Program for 12 years, and serving as a two-term Chair of the US Oncology National Policy Board Executive Committee. Dr. Langer served as Practice President of Compass Oncology for eight years, where she worked with her fellow physician leaders to successfully engage in the CMMI Oncology Care Model, expand patient care and support services with a Social Work team and a dedicated Palliative Care service, and modernize the physician compensation model to better align with patient-centric practice.
Prior to leaving full time practice, Dr. Langer was an active member on the board of the Oregon Society of Medical Oncology, and currently serves on the Oregon HERC Value Based Care Subcommittee. She has been recognized as a “Top Doc” several years running for her high quality, compassionate patient care. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR), the Oregon Society of Medical Oncology (OSMO), and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG).
