Benjamin Li, MD, MBA
Dr. Benjamin Li will be joining UW Faculty in Fall 2023 as physician lead for the Global Oncology/Healthcare Disparities program in the Department of Radiation Oncology. During his early career to date, Dr. Li founded Rayos Contra Cancer (translation: “Rays Against Cancer”) a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality radiotherapy through education and training in low-resource environments. Rayos Contra Cancer now spans over 75 countries in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia providing free training to over 2800 Radiation Oncologists/Clinical staff in LMICs worldwide. Benjamin graduated from Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, CA where he was a National Hispanic Scholar and subsequently went on to Harvard to receive a BA in Chemistry and Physics with a Foreign Language Citation in Spanish and Secondary in Music. Subsequent to obtaining an MD/MBA at Vanderbilt University with a Graduate Certificate in Global Health, he matched to UCSF for medical residency in Radiation Oncology, where he served as Chief Resident and is completing his residency.
