Dr. Patel’s clinical and research expertise is in Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT). He has a particular interest in allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation as well as cellular therapies such as CAR-Ts for the treatment of malignant and benign hematologic diseases in adult patients. Dr. Patel’s research interests focus on the management of potential complications of such therapy including disease relapse and graft-versus-host disease. His work includes research and committee collaborations through such national and international organizations as ASTCT, CIBMTR, ASH, and EBMT. He completed his medical school and internal medicine training at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Patel then completed his hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, with a subsequent fellowship there specializing in BMT prior to joining Huntsman Cancer Institute.
