Qiuying (Selina) Liu, MD
Born in China, Dr. Liu came to the U.S. with her family at age 14 and has been calling Portland home since 2004. She first discovered her passion in medicine and cancer biology research after working with Dr. William Fleming at OHSU during high school. After receiving her degrees in biology and international studies from Oregon State University, Dr. Liu spent a year as a research assistant in Dr. Brian Druker’s laboratory studying the pathogenesis of myeloid neoplasms. She continued with her project during medical school at OHSU, where she further consolidated her interest in hematology oncology. She later went on to complete his internal medicine residency training at University of New Mexico after receiving her M.D. in 2018. As her clinical skill evolved during residency, she gained a deep appreciation of the need for ongoing basic and translational research to improve treatments for patients with hematologic malignancy. She looks forward to continuing her clinical and research training at OHSU as a hematology oncology fellow, where she will work alongside with world-class physicians and researchers to master the art of treating difficult hematologic conditions and the science of conducting translational research for novel cancer interventions.
