Evthokia Hobbs, MD

Dr. Hobbs specializes in the treatment and supportive management of breast cancer patients. Her first steps in formalizing a career in oncology began with a post-baccalaureate research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute studying how lung cancer develops. Her decision to become a breast cancer specialist evolved early in medical school after she witnessed the compassion her mentor demonstrated in caring for breast cancer patients and how translational research can directly change the course of this disease. Since, Dr. Hobbs has focused her research on understanding the molecular underpinnings of breast cancer, translating laboratory research into clinical trials, and bringing forward new treatments to daily clinical practice. She came to the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, a pioneer in precision oncology, to build upon the collaborative approach between patients and scientists and to “end cancer as we know it”.
