Andrew Cowan, MD
Andrew J Cowan, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington, and a joint associate member in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. His clinical and research interests are in multiple myeloma and AL amyloidosis. He first became interested in the plasma cell disorders during a 1-year amyloidosis fellowship in Boston, and subsequently completed fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the UW/Fred Hutch in 2015. He continued as a faculty member in the plasma cell disorders group, where he is active in clinical trials and research, and is the clinical director of the myeloma service. Currently, he is running several studies, including phase 1 and 2 trials of novel immunotherapies and new targets. He is most interested in improving outcomes for patients with multiple myeloma and helping find new, better treatments.
